How to link Logic Pro X instruments Library with GarageBAnd (and use Logic specific instruments with GarageBand) ?

Hello

I have several computers (Macs mini) on which I installed Logic Pro X.

I found that after the installation of Logic, GarageBand's instruments library was more provided : Logic apparently shares its instruments library with GarageBand (therefore we find Logic specific instruments in GarageBand). Remark : I'm not talking about Apple Loops, but software instruments.

For this pooling of Logic instruments library I had nothing to do particular, it has set up its own.

But now, with a new Mac Mini in wich I have newly installed Yosemite and Logic Pro X, this time, in this computer, I can not find Logic specific instruments in GarageBand, even after several re-installations / banks restorations sounds ...

How can I do to manually build the link that will allow GarageBand to benefit the Logic instruments library ?

Hello there, StephaneParis3.

It seems that you're not seeing the additional content that is included with Logic Pro X. The following Knowledge Base article provides the steps on how to get that content downloaded to your new Mac Mini:

Logic Pro X, MainStage 3: Issues installing additional content

Additional content is 35 GB, which could cause issues with your Internet connection.

You can install the additional content packages individually at any time. In the Additional Content window, select the checkbox for each content package you want to download and click Install.

There is are additional resources in the following article as well:

Missing sounds, instruments, and loops in GarageBand 10 or Logic Pro X

When you install GarageBand 10 or Logic Pro X, their collection of sounds, instruments, and loops might be missing.

This can happen if you have another mounted drive or volume that also has GarageBand 10 or Logic Pro X installed on it. To avoid this, be sure those volumes or drives are unmounted when you install these applications.

Which version of GarageBand are you using? In GarageBand 10, all my Logic Instruments are showing in the Legacy section of the instrument library. Have you checked Legacy > Logic?

EdiT: Maybe I misunderstood your question. If the problem is not, that you cannot find the Logic Pro Instruments in the instrument library, but that you are getting and error message "FX... missing" , when you select a Logic instrument in GarageBand, look at this discussion: Re: "Remix FX" isn't available on your system
