iPhone 6s Space Grey Paint Peeling/Chipping

Hi there,

Recently I noticed that the paint work on my iPhone 6s near the antenna line below the camera had peeled off or rather chipped off. It is not a huge chip, maybe less than a millimeter or so. I'm surprised coz the phone is always in the case and I have never dropped the phone. Anyone else has a similar issue?

Hi, I have the same problem with my 6s. I bought one in December 2015, and it got so bad that I went to the Apple store, where I was offered a half price replacement (A$200). I took this offer, and equipped the phone in a lifeproof case, only to discover symptoms of it happening again. I was really dissappointed, so I went to the Apple store, where, after an hour wait, I was also told it was a cosmetic issue and therefore not covered by warranty. I'm pretty sure that according to Australia's consumer laws I'm entitled to a refund or replacement, but Apple isn't acknowledging this.

I'm not sure about Australia's consumer laws but I would guess in most countries consumer protection laws only cover the functionality of the device and not how it looks. This is typically referred to as "normal wear and tear."
