iPad2 - After the updated iOS 9.3 Build 13E236

After the updated iOS 9.3 Build 13E236, it still doesn't work for me, it said " iTunes could not back up the iPad "my iPad" because a session could not be started with the iPad. Please disconnect and reconnect the iPad, then try again." I have tried to reconnect and reset my pc for few times, i even try to hard reset my ipad2, it still doesn't work. How can I stop the back up ?

I just found a possible answer but I am not sure if it would work and if it will erase the data.

  1. Turn off the iPad
  2. Hold power and home together for 10 seconds until it tells you to connect to iTunes.
  3. open iTune on your computer, connect your iPad to your computer.
  4. iTune would ask if you would like to "restore" or "update" your iPad.
  5. choose "update", and it will update soon.
  6. the progress will be a white apple on your iPad screen, then it will tell you "slide to update".
  7. slide and continue update.
  8. after update, plug out your usb to disconnect your iPad with your computer
  9. iPad will tell you connect t iTunes to active your device.
  10. Reconnect your iPad to your computer, and it will be active.
  11. enter you password on your iPad and enjoy it.

you are right.... I just tried it by myself and fixed step 2 and 3.....

It works for me, and all your data will also be safe.

  1. Turn off the iPad
  2. Hold power and home together for 10 seconds until it shuts down.
  3. open iTune on your computer, press and hold "Home" on your iPad and connect your iPad to your computer.
  4. after white apple shows up on your iPad, iTunes would ask if you would like to "restore" or "update" your iPad.(Now your iPad screen will look like this:User uploaded file)
  5. choose "update", and it will update soon.
  6. the progress will be a white apple on your iPad screen(actually it stuck about 20 minutes and the progress bar finally moved....)
  7. after progress finished, stay for a while with the white apple, then it will tell you "slide to update".
  8. slide and continue update.(Now the progress will be a black apple, and when the update finished, the screen will turn black)
  9. after update, plug out your usb to disconnect your iPad with your computer
  10. iPad will tell you connect to iTunes to active your device.
  11. Reconnect your iPad to your computer, and it will be active.
  12. enter you password on your iPad and enjoy it.

Other solution from other users:

(1) Larashly solved the problem by following these steps.

Follow the seteps below:

  1. Connect the iPad to your computer and launch iTunes
  2. Turn the device OFF (hold down the power button at the top of the device) Turn the iPad off (sleep button pressed for a few seconds until the red slider appears, and then turn off the iPad).
  3. Connect the iPad again with the USB cable still inserted in the computer while holding down the Home button. Let the home button until release when you see the message "Connect to iTunes".iTunes tell you ' an iPad is in recovery mode has been detected'.
  4. Then press “Restore”
  5. Then follow simple instructions on iTunes on your computer.

As part of the restore it did update to iOS 9.3 and is now restoring my Apps.

(2) I haven't tried it, but I have seen other solution, I hope it helps others who doesn't want to erase unsaved data user.

Hi everybody,

I think this might help (is what I did and some others on this page to):

  1. 1. Take any internet-connected computer/tablet/phone, go to iCloud.com and login.
  2. 2. Go to 'settings'.
  3. 3. From the 'my devices' tab, REMOVE the iPad or iPhone that cannot be activated.
  4. 4. Try activating the iPad or iPhone again, it should work now.
  5. 5. Verify that your iPad or iPhone returns in iCloud again.

This should be all...

(NO NEED for resetting to factory settings!!!)
