Google links don't work after iOS 9.3

After update to iOS 9.3 on my iPhone 6 Plus I can no longer click on search links from Google anymore. Tried both in Safari and Chrome. Works well with Bing.com.

If I hold down on the link and choose to open in new tab it works.

restarted apps -> same result

Rebooted iPhone twice -> same result.

I Have the sAmerica issues after upgrading to iOS 9.3 last night on my iPhone 6. Called customer service tech support and at first they denied having an issue with iOS 9.3 and that they are not aware of one. Then the guy comes back after I sent him the link to this page with people comparing about this issue and said that they were made aware of this issue 15 minutes ago. Bull.

It's not just devices that have been updated to 9.3!

I also have an ipad I had not updated (still on 9.2.x) and the problem started on that first and THEN my updated one followed suit!!

Strangely enough advertising links (ie preceded by an A) work perfectly in Safari on google.com but ALL other links freeze the app!

Links work perfectly on Amazon websites!!

Chrome still seems to work as long as you hold the link & "open in new tab"

T next morning after upgrading to IOS 9.3 I tried to open links on google via Safari and my iPad Air froze. It just sat there looking at me. This is the first time that I have had a problem with an update. Yes disabling script worked but with obvious implications of not being able to open up pictures, a bit frustrating when shopping for a new gas bbq. Also I have found that my battery life has has somewhat diminished.

i Have found that downloading the Google app and using this directly instead of going through Safari works fine without having to disable java script.

Ok guys, I have an iphone 6 and updated it to the latest version a few days ago. Since then I am experiencing similar issues.

When I turn the wifi off, I am able to access any Safari hyperlinks by doing the following:

Settings --> Safari --> Open Links --> and i selected "In Background".

However, the phone still freezes when I am trying to open a hyperlink from my mails and from any other applications.

When I turn the wifi on, it freezes Safari even with the above change. Then, tried to turn off JavaScript (and in combination with the above setting), Safari hyperlinks work. Still the phone freezes when clicking on hyperlinks in any other apps.

Hope this helps.
I'll get back to you if I find any other solutions (but hopefully, we will receive a software update soon!) 🙂

Having the same issue in Safari and Chrome on my iPhone 5 since recently. Don't know for sure whether its iOS 9.3: I installed it on Tuesday and only noticed yesterday evening, so probably the problem came sometime after I updated-- Can't click any links in Google, although some other links outside Google sometimes work, just like holding down/open in new tab sometimes works. This is very inconvenient, hoping for a fix soon. Currently can't even restore the software because it was pulled for iPhone 5.

Thanks for sharing this. I am having link problems in safari too. Didn have it immediately after upgrading to 9.3. Initially it was fine, but then after 6/8 hours, the problem started. My hubby too has the same phone-Iphn6, but his safari is working fine. I guess the problem is not universal. For the time being I have downloaded the google search App.

Turning javascript off does not help me. Safari in my iPad mini 4 is not working with ios 9.3 upgrade. Google Chrome does not work, too. As SSARMA said, I didn't see this problem when I initially updated to ios 9.3 on my iPad mini 4. But, it started a day after installation. And it seems that iOS 9.2.1 also has this problem as others commented. Anyway this is horrible and not acceptable.
