after updating to iOS 9.3 the links in Safari and Mail do not work

After updating to iOS 9.3 the links and Safari do not work. Overtime i search in google the results list shows but all the links do not work and Safari gets stuck. Same thing in Mail. So in Safari i should type the exact address to see that particular website or link

Hi OriganlName022,

Thanks for the tip, at last I have a useful phone again!

Some tips for apple, if they might read this:

- This was a major bug. I think caused by the quick fix for older devices where IOS 9.3 did not work

- I cannot understand why IOS 9.3 installation caused problems on older devices anyway. I should expect Apple is testing the upgrade on all devices they claim to support

- I have had a lot of problems lately with this bug: cannot verify subscriptions, cannot use track/trace, cannot even reply to this forum from my iPhone.. Nowadays, searching the internet and click on a link or reply to a link from an email is as important as using your phone for a call. I'm disappointed no reaction from Apple on this forum (as far as I can see)

At last, why didn't Apple informe it's customers? Is must be not that difficult to keep your users and customers informed, like some broadcast or announcement function on Apple devices. I suspect it's already available.

Text could be something like 'Dear valued Apple customer: we experiencing some issues with the latest IOS update, but are investigating the problem. Sorry for the inconvenience.'

'Dear valued Apple customer: we have located the problems with the latest IOS release and are working on a solution. We are expecting to release an upgrade in xx days.'

This way I would feel taken seriously, and also know Apple is aware of the problems.

And taking your customers seriously did not harm any company as far as I know. And don't forget Apple, your customers are mainly very loyal, but don't lose them by staying anonymous..

Hello zhero77,

Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities!

From your question, I understand that hyperlinks are not behaving as expected after updating to iOS 9.3. We know how frustrating situations like this can be and we want to make sure your devices are working as expected.

iOS 9.3.1 was recently released. Performing this update should resolve this situation.

I have fought this problem for the past week or so in my iPad 3, after upgrading to IOS 9.3. I rebooted my iPad 3 several times. I was thinking that I had a serious problem with the iPad3 and thought I'd have to replace it. Most frustrating!

I agree that Apple should have been a little proactive about this bug. Yes, a notification of some time would have saved me some serious frustration. Just glad I thought to check this forum this morning. I'm just downloaded the update to 3.9.1 My iPad was useless since this bug was installed. I was concerned that the problem could prevent the iPad from requesting the update. But it worked and is the iPad3 now seems to be working "normally". Did take a long time to down load and install.

My iPhone 6S is also running IOS 9.3 but isn't seeing this problem. Must just be with the older devices. My iPad 3 is several years old, but until now was working like a top! Should I be nervous about updating the iPhone 6S? Guess I shouldn't be.

I have seen nothing on my email from Apple telling me of the upgrade. All I have seen recently from them is an email with an ad for the new iPhone SE that came from Apple around noon yesterday. Nothing so far today. I'd think they would tell the world that they have a fix for this most annoying problem!

Thanks OriginalName022 for posting it here!

My son's phone has this problem also. Of course it is out of warranty and our carrier has talked to Apple but gotten no where. They say that the update has probably friend the interior antenna? Does that sound like a good answer?? And my next question is if this phone was fried by Apple's update then why shouldn't Apple be responsible for replacing it. IT worked perfectly fine until he did the latest update a week or so ago. I believe it would be the 9.3 update.

Ridiculous nonsense. Your carrier made something up to get rid of you.
