Simple solution, talk to Verizon and get the Novatel Wireless MiFi Mode Switch Utility.

The Novatel Wireless MiFi Mode Switch Utility will automatically switch Ethernet modes on a MiFi USB620L, MiFi 6620L, or MiFi SA 2100 device to make it compatible with OS X version 10.11 (El Capitan) or above. This utility is not needed with OS X version 10.10 or below.

To install the utility, from Finder, double click on the ”Novatel Wireless MiFi Mode Switch Install" application. Administrator rights are required and you'll be prompted for the password.

If you see the error "can't be opened because it is from an unidentified developer", press and hold the "control" key and click on the application and select "Open" from the pop-up menu.

After installation is complete, simply plug in the device and it will automatically switch to the correct Ethernet mode. If a device was inserted before installing this utility, please unplug it and plug it back in.

To uninstall the utility, double-click on the ”Novatel Wireless MiFi Mode Switch Uninstall" application.

go to:

System preferences > Network

if your Mi-Fi device is listed, GREAT! configure it and get surfing.

But if not, click on the [+] button under the left column and see if you can ADD this as a new Network device.

You will have to choose it off a list, and it may not have the name you expect. (what you saw listed under USB devices may be a hint).

did you do this procedure as specified in the user manual?

Getting started with your new wireless MiFi 4G LTE Global USB Modem U620L is simple. Insert the modem into the USB Port, open the computer’s web browser, type http://my.usbor 192.168.1.1 in the browser’s address line and then press Enter. You are now connected to the Internet and the MiFi U620L Web UI home page.
