Changes I make in Titles or authors etc. are not synced to other devices.
Is this a bug or am I the only one?
iMac with Retina 5K display, OS X El Capitan (10.11.4)
I'm having this exact same issue. Syncing between two iMacs running El Capitan 10.11.4, an iPhone and an iPad.

You certainly took a lot of effort to workaround this (what I call a) bug.
I had indeed noticed that if you first change the Title or Author, then get it in iBooks and then sync, you get the correct data on your other devices, at least most of the time.
But it should of course work just like Photos or iTunes, where you can change the Metadata within the App and it is then automatically synced to your other devices.
I keep on hoping for a solution for this from Apple in the next update...
