Mixed language after english/french language switch

This is truly weird. I've been trying to fix spotlight issues, and one alleged fix is to toggle languages. Perhaps it rebuilds the spotlight index.

After switching from english to french and back again my UI is in English but my word completion is in French. A reboot didn't fix the problem, nor did changing languages again. Maybe I'll try switching to Chinese, but I think I need to do a wipe/restore.

If I had to bet I'd guess it's a cache problem. iOS has needed a cache cleaner for eons.

Anyway, be careful of language switches with iOS 9.3.

PS. Language switching is a bit odd. From Spanish, for Example, one switches to English, but it's US English for me. To get to UK English you need to switch again. I can't go directly from Spanish to UK English. I presume it's the same for various versions of Spanish...

iPhone 6, iOS 9.3, null

This is normal behavior. Word completion follows the Keyboard (not Language). When you switch Languages, it adds a new keyboard as default. To go back to your old one, you tap the Globe key and make sure that is the active keyboard, or go to settings > general > keyboard > keyboards and delete the one you don't want.

Thanks!

Yes, every language adds a keyboard, and the keyboard, as you say, determines word complete. Apps are supposed to take the primary keyboard, but some apps are buggy and take a non-primary. Removing a language doesn't remove the keyboard.

There are funny things with US vs. UK vs. Canadian English. Seems to be 1 keyboard, but word suggest varies with language/spelling variants.
