YouTube Video lag on Apple TV

The same problem showed up after the recent IOS update. I did a factory reset and had to load all of my apps again and it all worked fine...for awhile. The lag came back within a couple of hours and remains. I checked the cabling but have not had any luck so far.

II've heard you can correct the issue by delete/reinstall the problematic app (YouTube) or the factory reset should result in the same result but without having to reinstall everything rather just the apps that are causing issue...

An update: I found that if I simply unplug the power cord to the ATV and then plug it back in, the lag goes away...for awhile. It can start to creep back in with small stutters and then get out of whack but the de-powering solution is working pretty well. There is obviously something wrong with the new IOS update and its compatibility with YouTube and probably some other apps. Until that is fixed, power down and then power up seems to work.

You can swipe up the youtube app by double clicking home button on remote control, and reopen it to work around this issue.

I've been using this method for a while. It's easier than restarting. As you've observed, it's a temporary fix. Ultimately, the YouTube app needs to be fixed.
