Can I move the formatting toolbar to top?

Hi!

I just bought a new MacBook Pro (OSX 10).

I want to use the pre installed Pages (5.6.1) for text editing, but I´m very disturbed by the placement of the formatting toolbar, which is on the side.

Is it possible to move the formatting toolbar to the top, like i.e. Word and LibreOffice have?

That's not the worst of it, and the answer is no.

If you can get a copy of iWork '09 and install that and your wish will come true.

The formatting bar cannot be moved, but it can be hidden on demand by clicking the Format word in the Toolbar. TextEdit on the other hand, keeps its formatting controls on the Toolbar.
