iTunes not syncing all of my photos iOS 9.3.1

Hi, I believe this version of iTunes is very buggy and has extremely low tolerance of other file types (in my case) and file names (as shown in another recent post). If your screenshots are in .PNG format, convert them to .JPG and try syncing again. It may help. Cheers.

The iTunes downgrade also worked for me. Brand new iPad Air 2, just out of the box, and a clean install of El Capitan. Got through 2,800 of 12,000 photos and stopped syncing. Tried hunting down png and tiff files, but that didn't make any difference. Finally, did the downgrade to iTunes and I'm happily watching the sync finish up.

Thanks for the kind reply again. Any easy way to convert photos under screenshots from PNG to JPEG? I also did a search for .png and nothing showed up. Where did you search for .png under?

Hi, I do not use Photos myself. I keep a small library just for testing purpose. Like many photo management software, Photos has Export capability.

Highlight / tag all photos to export

File -> Export -> Export X photos (X = number of photos you highlight)

Choose JPEG as your "Photo Kind" and location of export

Press "Export"

Import the exported JPEG

Try sync and see if it's okay.

If all is fine, delete those culprit "screenshots".

I had 5788 photos and I chose to export to desktop. Instead of sending them in a file to desktop it literally sent 5788 pictures to my desktop and now I can not see shi* on my desktop... How do I select all of those now to import again? Should I delete the ones in screenshots first before importing them again?

Just tried this. Export worked fin but importing them back screenshots as jpeg files did not work. Would not allow me to import them back to screenshot

You need to start a new thread since you have a totally different problem

and gutter language does not enhance your question in any way

exporting photos copies the photos, it does not remove them from Photos so you can simply delete them from the desktop and then export correctly into a folder -- or make a folder and drag them into it on the desktop which may be as easy as deleting

To my best knowledge, there's no issue with syncing PNGs or screenshots. That works fine for me. In my case, it finally turned out I had two photos in iPhoto that were converted to Grayscale with non-Apple software. Seems like iTunes has big trouble when a single photo has a gray color space. I added my insights to my bugreport at bugreport.apple.com, and told them that iTunes should simply skip and report incompatible photos instead of stopping the whole photo sync. Hope that they fix this annoying issue soon.

Your reply did not help resolve the problem of not being able to import the updated picture files from png to Jpeg back into screenshots folder. Trying to resolve problem of what some here claim is a particular screenshots issue and creating another folder does not resolve this issue for future sync where one has screenshots which should sync properly in the first place.

I did not convert any of mine to grayscale so this is not the case for me. Still has to be another bug in syncing with iTunes or El Capitan

It fixed it! I can now sync ALL of my photos to ALL of my devices. I upgraded my devices to iOS 9.3.2 and upgraded iTunes to 12.4 and VOILA! HEY PRESTO! They all sync. Yay. Thanks for fixing, Apple.
