logic's tuner don't work?

When I activate my Tuner,a little man jumps out of the monitor,runs up the neck of my geetar,fiddles with the tuning pegs and when he's done gives me the thumbs up(sometimes a wink) and then jumps right back in to the Monitor.

Yeah weird, I don't know why the ****** tuner won't tune my guitar after the fact.

Did you get big fat black books with logic? Open them. There are some words in there. On the index section, that would be the last pages of the big black books, look for something that looks like this:

next to that is a page number which would look like this:

1234

find it in the big black book. Normally the page number is printed in the bottom right or left corner of the page. A page is what the white stuff is inside the big black book, it has letters printed on it.

Go to that page and read the letters.

Yeah, I fell foul to the not working out about turning SM on too in the early days.
Aside from being a tuner, what else would you like it to be?

On second thoughts, is this the old skool LOGIC PRO GUY who disappeared for a while?

Geez, my little man just flips me the finger until I tune the guitar myself....

in fact I will add something intelligent to this thread...

You should always use the same tuner to tune all instruments, if you don't you could end up with variations and you will get some funkiness in your recordings.

So get yourself a nice little Bose tuner and walk around and tune the whole band with it, forget the plugin, even if band members have their own tuners, they likely won't be the same ones.

On a more serious note, I'm surprised that you guys don't dig it, because I really like it.

In fact, it's my favourite digital tuner for guitar I've used. It has a very fine resolution so you can get nearly spot on visually alone, whereas with other tuners I've used the display gets you roughly in the ballpark.

I was really pleased when I tried the Logic tuner plugin for the first time, I thought it was a bit of a toy before that because of it's slightly Logic "cyber" look, but I've found it invaluable.

RE the big black books.

My little man carved out the middle's of both of them so he has somewhere to live,between tuning's so when I come here looking for answer's which is often "don't tell me to read the books because there is nothing left to read!!!!!

Take "note" (pun intended) Mellisa!!!!!!

Actually, the tuner plug-in can come in handy there. I used it to set up my bass guitar.

Indeed, just to reitterate what Jord said, if you don't know what you're doing when trying to set up a guitar, do get someone who knows to do it for you. It might be good for a bit, but you could end up really messing up your truss rod, and then that's the end of your neck in a year's time...

This thread made me give the Logic tuner another try.
But no, it´s too nervous to me. I prefer the old Boss tuner.
(And I believe 440 hz are 440 hz, even in Denmark)

In fact I have never been happy with any software tuner, so far.
(The Waves tuner, maybe? Don´t know it)
I used to (try to) use the Tascam US428 tuner.
Even worse. You have to turn up everything to absolute max to get a signal recoqnized...No, no no..I agree with topic starter, but will modify: "Logic´s tuner doesn´t work properly".

(My main guitars: ES 335/175 have very loud outputs.)

Same here. I find it works great as well. Doesn't go nuts at all for me... rather solid. Like I said, I have used it to set up some of my instruments.

The cyber look seemed to fit in with the likes of ES-1 and such. 🙂

It sounds as though your guitar could do with either a string change or a setup to check its intonation. As you probably know, changing the brand of strings you use can alter the intonation/tuning of the guitar.

Maybe. The term is "distemper" and it means you're either a dog or a painter.

But don't worry too much. It means you've got a mean tone.

However, just don't play in front of a classically trained boxer, because you'll be beatin'.
