I'm having a simular and broad problems with my iPhone 6: MY SCREEN IS IRRESPONSIVE / NON RESPONSIVE AND WOULD DO ITS OWN TYPING WITHOUT MY HELP. See all my notes above.

I have tried solutions recommanded by the Community

- Turning off

- Shaking hard

- Stopping all background activity from my apps.

- Store and restore process through iTunes (As recommanded by Apple Assistance via a Chat)

And just back from Genius Back that instructed me to get through a full reset of contents and configuration parameters (Apple Store in Paris / Genius Bar this Saturday)

All these solutions all work fine but only for a while only. The bug will come back and generally happens when I start a new session. Even after the full reset.

I have therefore spent nights in resetting my iPhone and implementing other solution without any success.

I get deseparate and angry against Apple that do not seem to be transparent on that issue. I therefore have no clue on what issue it is and do not know what to do on short term with my current iPhone (should I trash it) and in the long term if I should continue with Apple (I remember when Apple was at the end of its success story with the Mac SE and I had to decide to move to Windows).

I have taken another appointment with Genius Bar at the Apple Store at Paris Carrousel for Saterday. Let's see what they will say this time.

NOTE: I RECOMMAND THAT YOU ALL GO TO GENIUS BAR AND CHAT. ONCE THEY WILL GET OVERLOAD MAY BE THEY WILL TRY TO FIND A FIX AND/OR BE MORE TRANSPARENT ON THE ISSUE

like what i said before.the reason why our screen/touch unresponsive and crazy bcoz of overheating while updating and posibly toast protective tape/film or what ever they called..dont do this if you have warranty, for those who dont have warranty, you better go to repair shop and replace screen,or watch this if you can open your phone own your own.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QS8i4_X4fPg

Having the same problem in your iphone 6+, i think you should post it in youtube. That's i can't understand with apple even if our warranties are expired, they shouldn't charge us because we've just upgraded our iphone 6/6+ to ios 9.3.1 believing it bring will improve its performance but it is not. I don't know what kind of firmware this ios 9.3.1, it looks like virus to me. last wednesday i reset again my iphone 6, because it's starting crazy again. The diagnostic data in my iphone 6 is in automatic send. I don't know if it helps me because their are times while i'm texting my friend it becomes unresponsive again. When i got access again by restarting my phone and check diagnostic data, there's no record of that incident. I'll never forget when i brought my iphone 6 to its authorized service center, because it is out of warranty, they afraid to do some resetting in my iphone because it might stack in apple logo and the only solution is replacement. But thanks God i was able to reset on my own way my iphone 6 by watching in youtube without paying those service center of apple but still the problems keeps coming back. What's annoy me sometime when someone calling you and the phone become unresponsive..wow, i'm look like crazy with other people trying to answer the phone but nothing happens. ahhh!!!!!!! How long will we suffer in this problem????!!!!!!!

My iPhone 6, iOS 9.3.1 has been experiencing the similar problem. (unresponsive touchscreen, apps open automatically on occasions...)

✖I have tried many options including hard reset, Reset All Settings, and even Erase All Content and Settings. The problem has remained unsolved.

✅ But I tried turning OFF Fitness Tracking (Setting -> Privacy -> Motion and Fitness). Since then my phone works flawlessly again.

I guess this problem might be related to the motion sensor. So turning off the tracking sensor might help.

This cure worked for me at least. I don't know if this would work for anyone else. Why don't you guys try it and keep everyone posted here? 🙂

I updated to 9.3.2, still issues. I also reset my iPhone and rebuilt it as "new" in iTunes. Still the unresponsive screen. Just tried the tip above by turning off fitness tracking, we will see if that helps. I hope so, because this is driving me crazy! My phone has never even been dropped or mistreated, just all of the sudden the unresponsive screen happening more and more. It's got to be a software issue rather than the phone itself.

I ran the beta of 9.3.2 and am now running the full version too. The beta didn't fix anything. I am not sure about the full version, but I am not holding my breath. I'll report back the minute my phone starts acting up. I expect that'll be before the end of the day.

I've done restores and clean installs and nothing works. My screen still randomly stops working and also randomly freaks out. Locking and unlocking my phone is the only way to get it back and sometimes I have to do that a few times before the screen will work again.

The Apple folks wanted to blame my hardware and want me to spend $150 to fix that, but there is no refund if the problem still persists. They will only change-out my handset, but that isn't likely to help given the problem seems software related and not hardware. I don't want to spend $150 for something that wasn't a problem before 9.3. My phone worked wonderfully before then and I expect it would work again if I could go back to 9.2.1.

I am beyond frustrated. My phone is instrumental in my life and has been so unreliable that I am considering a different handset. Their lack of response has me questioning if I should remain a loyal Apple customer...

Just to remind everyone... there is another thread on this topic > iPhone 6 plus intermittent unresponsive screen

You need to pin down the event that immediately preceded the onset of the misbehavior - and be really SURE about it

It appears anecdotally that many here have cited the installation of the iOS 9.3.1 upgrade.

If that is so, say so in your postings and Feedback "Bug Report" to Apple > http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html

It is VERY important to have DETAILS committed to a tangible medium - My crystal ball is busted and so is Apple's. Any "vague" reports will likely be disregarded (and thus not counted as evidence!)

Cite other devices in the same household that do or do not exhibit the problem (if iOS 9.3.1 is on these)

"Social Activism" will have ZERO effect on Apple or its actions.

Businesslike communications are the only way Apple (a very BIG business) will respond.

Know that the percentage of the 60+ million iPhones affected by this issue is but a small fraction.

Apple's historical practice has been to "quietly" deal with the small numbers(relatively) problems on a case-by-case basis, rather than make a big Public Relations Deal out of it.

I started experiencing same issues lately on iPhone 6.

The only changes I did lately were to upgrade to iOS 9.3.1 and to turn on Automatic Apps update. Yesterday I turned off Automatic Apps update and updated to iOS 9.3.2 and issue seems to be gone now (in last 24 hours).

During the time I had issues with the screen it seemed like it was happening each time when iPhone got warmer (e.g. while charging, screen was behaving strangely and doing stuff on its own, but when unplugged and left to cool down for few minutes it was OK).

I saw same issue few years ago on iPhone 3GS which got damaged by water and then I used to run application Draw (simple drawing app) to see what's going on with display and which parts of the screen are being pressed on its own. On damaged iPhone it acted like it was always pressing the same spot on the screen and on iPhone 6 yesterday it was pressing in spots up and down from the place where the last touch was made. Maybe this will help someone.
