For me the problem is solved now! I am happy and angry 🙂

I just had to buy a new iPhone 6s Plus 64GB and don't user the old iPhone 5 16GB anymore. That's it. Very easy. Just 900 Euros!

As long as there is no serious competitor Apple can do that. I will wait until the bug is fixxed and sell the old one.

It's now nearly 1 month with that bug, that's too long if you are addicted.

There are more and more articles and video about the bug. You find above the reference to one of these videos among others. But yet no permanent fix. We are not only a few but many iPhone customers faces this issue.

Worst is that Apple denies the issue, refuses to communicate on it and is not transparent with its Customers. I also suspect that they channel our frustration and clean the web as much as they can. I had just been advised that I should post such a note in other sections of this site ! 😕

Unfortunately this situation reminds me the old time when I had to move from the Mac SE series to Windows as Apple would no longer deliver innovation, advanced technology and higher quality products. I hope I will not have to move to a Samsung !

I have tried the different recommendations:

- shaking hardly the iPhone

- Resetting and restoring the iPhone

- Etc ...

They are all temporary measures as the bug will come back.

This is all the more annoying that this happens mostly when you want to use your iPhone, whereas after a while it will disappear. It sounds like a synchronization / communication issue with tasks launched in the background when you reconnect that overrun the iOS.

Congratulations on the purchase of your new Apple iPhone 6S Plus. I know I might sound a bit conspiracy but I suspect this bug was planted by apple in the new ios software update in order to push us all old iPhone handset to purchase a new iPhone.

I used to update the phone every year on September but last year I decided to hold on to the iPhone 6 because to be honest, there is not much different between 6 and 6 plus that worth me paying A$1,379 for it. hence I have been experienced this issue since the new upgrade. On the post April 20 I mentioned the issue was kind of resolved by shaking the phone. unfortunately like all other users, I can confirm it is a temporary fix and the "unresponsive touch screen" has been returned for me for a week now. I deal with it by just turn the phone off and turn it back on but honestly sometimes I just left it there and few minutes later the screen respond and then I can do what I was meant to do. After reading Wuist's post, I even clear all of the apps running in the background and only leave 1 app on and it is still being frozen. The thought of doing another factory restore on this phone really is exhausted and time consuming.

I am kind of wondering if we create a facebook page for this issue then maybe Apple will need to look into this for us seeing how many people will follow it.

Wuist, will you do it? reason is because I have very limited knowledge of facebook.

well, that's my post for today. I am following this post so looking forward to reading some of your thoughts. In the meantime, just finger crossed that I will control the urge of mashing this phone and getting a Samsung handset instead. LOL

Alright people, here is the scoop:

Disabling the fitness tracker did nothing. It came back right after that... BUT you can try this and be as bummed and furious as I am right now:

When your screen becomes unresponsive, try grabbing your phone by the edges with your index finger and thumb (like in a landscape/horizontal orientation), bend/twist VERY SLIGHTLY... And see what happens... Voilá! Absurd, huh? I know...Now the shaking makes sense...the phone flexes, the screen goes back to normal. Apple, PLEASE, don't tell me this is hardware related. Everyone started noticing this after the iOS 9 upgrade. Could this be a horrible coincidence of hardware failing from people puttig their phones in their pockets? All at the same time? I doubt... There's something fishy there and we'd LOVE if Apple can come up with an answer/fix for this...or maybe we should just start a class action suit. Who knows...good luck y'all! Peace!

i have also this kind feeling in this ios 9.3.1 because it take so long to release another update to fix the problem created this 9.3.1. and since we're doing temporary solution like restarting our iphone without knowing we are already overuse the power and home keys. so what we will get another problem in our hardware due to overuse, what's painful is that apple will shift they'rec blame to us and the solutions they give to us is to buy another iphone. i have already reset my iphone 6 and only apps added facebook, spotify, and messenger and 10 pictures but still suffering unresponsive and simultaneous opening of apps sometimes. right now i'm using another phone for a while because my iphone 6 going crazy again.

Hello Everyone,

I've had the same issues with my iPhone 6+. It all started with the newest update; the dreaded 9.3.1. From reading everyones posts, it has to be in the updates firmware. Im pretty sure it has to with the 3D touch response. Since the iPhone 6/6Plus doesn't have the hardware capability that the newer 6S/6S Plus has with it newer touch response screen. I have caught the screen moving slightly on its own after it started to bug out, like it was looking for more of an input from the screen itself. I have read that some people have been able to revert back to an old iOS update like 9.3 or 9.2.1 and the issues are resolved. Ive also looked around and really haven't seen people that have bought the newer iPhone models (6S/6SPlus) having the same issues with the newest update.

I've called Verizon and they said since its out of the 1 year warranty I would need to go through Assurion insurance and pay $200.00 to have it replaced. The phone has never been dropped, scratched, dented, nor has the screen been broken or chipped, and it has never been submerged or had water spill on/or in it.

I called and set an appointment with the genius bar. They ran their tests and said they could not see anything wrong with the hardware or phone itself even though the so called "Genius" saw first hand at the phone freezing and the white bars on the screen. Since it was shy a few months of being out of warranty, they said they could try to fix it for $350.00. So I asked the "Genius," " So, you ran a comprehensive diagnostic test on the hardware and software and found nothing to be wrong with the phone?". Genius replied "Yes". Me,"But you were just able to see the problems I'm having with the phone first hand?". Genius again replies "Yes". "You; yourself, even stated that the phone was in great condition and didn't look like it was submerged at any time in water, correct?". Genius "yes". "So why am I going to pay you; to take a perfectly good phone, and let you try to restore the factory settings when I have done that at home. What happens when you open the phone and find all the hardware and components to be good and in working order? Do I still have to pay you $350.00 for trying to fix my phone that is still truly not fixed, when I'm **** near certain that the issues is the newest update?". Genius, "Unfortunately, yes. Then you could either purchase a new phone or go through your carriers insurance program".

I'm at my breaking point and no longer know what to do. I think my next solution is to video all interactions with Verizon and the Apple store and Genius bar and release it to youtube and social media. Maybe apple will pay attention to a lot of people having this problem and do the right thing. We pay a lot of money for these devices because they are supposedly the most reliable cell phones on the market. When it starts to be a hardware, software, firmware issues from the manufacturer if its in warranty great, you might be helped, but if its out of warranty and they caused the problem, they do not own up the situation to make it right. Shame on you apple!

I think if this is not resolved within the next month. I will be selling all of our apple products and going with Microsoft and Samsung. Which means selling 3 2014 27' iMacs, 4 iPads. 1 iPad Mini, 3 iPhones, 1 Mac book and all the accessories that go with every piece of equipment. Im tired of big Corporations not standing by the products they make and making them so they have an expiration date sooner than they should.

So F-you Apple. I'm done!!!!!
