If you purchase directly from Apple, their return policy is 14 days for a full refund. If you purchase from somewhere else, you would be subject to their policy, so you would need to be aware of that before you buy.

If you are already aware of the 14 day policy, I'm not sure what your question is. It is no different in any other country. A purchase from Apple, is a purchase from Apple. Again, if you purchase from someone else, then their policy is enforced. You question about software, is for individual software purchases, not what is installed on the phone. You can open and test the phone.

I already responded to that issue with software. If you purchase a software program, individual from any computer or other device, it cannot be returned. This is a little old, as most computer software now is downloaded. It would be like purchasing a particular software package that contained a disc, and you opened the package. Software opened like that cannot be returned. You may not have ever experienced purchasing software in this manner.

The phone is completely different.

Why not call an Apple Store in Holland and ask them? In the US you would have 14 days as long as it is not damaged (like being dropped). I am not aware of any so called "software seal". Removing the thin clear cover over the screen should not be an issue and neither will booting it up - all ok to return.

That is about software like for instance Office for Mac. Once you open Office for Mac it cannot be returned. Using your phone and testing all the native and free apps should not be a problem.
