Disable App Name on Rollover in Dock

Hi,

I want to disable the name of the app I am currently rolling over in the dock from displaying, can I do this? Don't really understand why I need the name of the icon to display, an icon is used in place of words to identify something. Always strikes me as quite an un-Apple design! My problem is the text bubble displayed gets in the way of my cursor on the command line and I have to shift mouse away from the icon, minor I know but would be nice to see if anyone knows if this can go away=)
