The .iso file I created with a Windows 7 Professional 32-64 BIT DVD will not install using BootCamp because it says it requires a 64 BIT .iso?????

Hello,

I am trying to have a dual boot system on a late 2012 iMac 27inch with Intel i7 running OS X running El Capitan v10.11.4 that has had the Fusion HD replaced. I created .iso files from .cdr files from both a WIndows 7 All-in-One 32/64 BIT DVD, and a Windows 7 Professional 32-64 BIT DVD, and also downloaded the BootCamp5.1.5621 drivers. I have created the .iso file(s) on an ejectable USB 160GB WD Passport ATA drive. When I try to use BootCamp to create a WIndows 7 install disk from the selected .iso file(s) it says that this version is not 64 BIT and that it requires 64 BIT to install on my iMac. What is Bootcamp looking for within the files of the .cdr/.iso that it determines that it is not 64 BIT?

iMac (27-inch, Late 2012), OS X El Capitan (10.11.4), Fusion HD replaced with 2TB WD SATA

Please use your product key and download a 64-bit only ISO from https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows7 and put it in your Documents folder. Find a 8+ GB USB Flash drive, which will be formatted/erased by BCA. Run BCA, and use the Create USB Installer option (it should automatically check the Download software option). Point to the ISO when prompted. This USB installer can be used repeatedly.

El Capitan will create the USB Installer with BC6 drivers. Please follow Install Windows 7 and earlier on your Mac using Boot Camp - Apple Support and follow steps 1-16 in Windows 7 installation section. Pay attention to step 11 in particular.

Thank you very much for the reply Loner T, I tried to use the Product Key given with the discounted Windows 7 OEM OS that I purchased through Amazon, but when I went to the Microsoft WIndows 7 download page, after I keyed in the Product Key and 'go figure' it responded with "The product key you entered appears to be for software pre-installed by the device manufacturer. Please contact the device manufacturer for software recovery options." hmmmm.....I guess I got taken, and this software is not legit?
