No service in Argentina for iMac´s bought before 2011 ?
In 2007 or 2008 I bought my iMac MA876LE/A model A1224 at a Mac Store located in
Unicenter Shopping - Parana (80) 3745, Martínez (San Isidro), Buenos Aires, Argentina.
You all know that Mac products in our country are two or three times the prices in the USA.
The iMac has been working fine till last week when some small vertical lines began to appear on the screen.
I'm a proffesional photographer and need the best definition possible. Also I noticed the back of the iMac was overheating
so I turned it off and fled to the official MacStation located in : Ayacucho 1184 - Buenos Aires, Argentina.
There they told me they couldn't receive iMac´s prior to 2011 for service.
My was so surpirsed that I went to other iPoint stores located in Buenos Aires and all agreed in the same terms.
So today I entered your website and proceeded like this :
But couldn´t validate purchase date because the furthest year is 2013.
So I have the following conclusions :
1) If you buy an iMac in the USA you don't have official service if bought prior to 2013.
2) Don't know if the costumer is told of this when purchased. (what I really don't mind because I don't live there)
3) I'd be surprised if you cheat on USA customers.
4) If you buy an iMac in the Argentina you don't have official service if bought prior to 2011.
5) I am sure the official retailers in Argentina are cheating on their customers because nobody tells them that their
iMac's won't have a service five years later.
6) Does Apple USA know about these issues taking place with their retailers in Argentina and haven't done anything
to stop bullying their customers ?
7) Should I go to a Customer Association to help them solve me this issue.
My intention is to know what problem my iMac has. If it's a graphic card replacement I can purchase it in Amazon
and let the Argentine retailers solve the problem. If it's an LCD issue I can do the same.
The main problem is that they won't axxept opening the iMac to see what problem it has.
I really bought that iMac overpriced. If it was USD 2.500 in the USA I surely paid USD 6.000 or more in my country.
I cannot believe a company like Apple doesn't care about their customers.
So much marketing and publicity all over the world reagrding the greatness of Steve Jobs and every new products for what?
Bullying the customers ?
Please let me know if there is a solution to my problem besides buying a new iMac.
Regards,
Rodolfo A.
