How to forward-delete on new iPad Pro Smart Keyboard?
Is there a way to forward delete? fn + delete used to do that on the old Apple wireless keyboard but there is no fn button any more.
Thank you.

I HAVE FOUND THE ANSWER!!! On the Smart Keyboard for the iPad Pro, by pressing the Forward Arrow + Delete, you can forward delete text. Found this on accident but I cant tell you how happy I am now. I have fallen in love with my iPad again.
I agree 100%. Forward Delete via "FN" + "Delete" keys is something I use everyday on Mac. Easily fixed by Apple as both of the 3rd party iPad keyboards I've used have this feature enabled. You could map to "Globe" + "Delete" key too I suppose. Please pass on this enhancement!
I have the Apple Magic Keyboard which does have a Fn key - the Fn Key and BackSpace key DOES NOT forward delete. This seems just plain crazy and a major difference to Mac experience. This seems such a major usability issue that could be fixed so incredibly simply.
It seems like Apple software designers have quit working with use cases or listening to users. They peremptorily eliminated the esc and function keys (e.g., no forward delete), with no apparent effort to provide alternatives.
I Haven't found one, as you say Fn + delete used to work but not on the smart keyboard
It's a real shame if this is true. Surely this is just a software issue - I see no reason why they couldn't remap Control + Delete to do forward delete.
Yep, me too. A forward delete option is important for me
It seems amazing that there still is not a solution to this. Wouldn't anyone within a couple of minutes of typing a document start to realize how frustrating it is to have to reposition the cursor to use the standard delete to forward delete? It seems it would be so easy just to make Ctrl + delete be forward delete.

No, I never noticed it was missing. Forward delete has never been "standard" on Apple devices. It's available on Macs but, last I checked, it's not the default.
You can submit feedback to Apple requesting such a feature here:
Hello, first, I agree with Meg and submitted feedback requesting that iPads themselves have that capability. Not knowing the technical implications I asked that Shift+Delete perform forward backspace. I know that Apple developers have a huge set of internal commitments but forward delete isn't a new concept and is available on other manufactured devices.
Meanwhile, I bought an IOGEAR CKB652B bluetooth keyboard with which fn-delete does forward delete. I'd guess that other non-Apple bluetooth keyboards work too.
Unfortunately, I think this is just moving the cursor forward and backward deleting. It doesn't seem to be an actual forward delete.
Slight modification of phokis3‘s answer Option + Right Arrow + Delete works in MS Word.
Same setup on the iPad pro 10.5, such a shame Apple haven’t notice yet!
This doesn't work for me on ios11 with smart keyboard on ipad pro
