Unlock Audio from a Movie and Edit Audio

Hi all,

Looking for some help here. Trying to edit some audio from a movie in Garage band V.10.1 - How do I unlock the audio so I can cut and splice the track?

Thanks in advance for your help, Joe

You cannot edit the sound track directly. Create a new track and copy and paste the audio region of the audio track to this new track. There you can edit the audio clip.

For example:

I created a new basic audio track from the Tracks menu, then held down the options key ⌥ while dragging the sound track to audio region to the new track. The copy in the duplicate track is unlocked.
