No more bidirectional communication in MS v3.2.x?

Hi all,

I've found another bug in MS v3.2.4 (maybe v3.2.x?). Bidirectional communication no longer works. I've been using the iOS app "MIDI Designer" with MS v3.1.1 for about a year now and have loved that when a command is sent from MD to MS, MS sends feedback to MD whereby the MD screen control you've just operated lights up. In MS, this is configured via the "Send Value to:" dropdown for each screen control property inspector in Layout Mode. However, whilst this option is still present in MS 3.2.4, no bidirectional communication actually occurs anymore i.e. MIDI Designer no longer receives communication from MS.

When I realised this today, I jumped on to the MIDI Designer forum and sure enough, other users and the MIDI Designer dev have noticed that MS has stopped sending bidirectional communication. I've submitted feedback to Apple, asking if the feature has been dropped or if this is a bug. Given that the "Send Value to:" option is still there for all screen controls, I can only assume it's a bug.

Does anyone know this has been removed as a MS feature?

Cheers

Gary

Just for fun, I rolled MS back to 3.2.3 from Time Machine. Bidirectional comm seems to work fine; a command sent from the GIO to MS loops back and changes the state of the all the lights on the GIO, not just some of them. That's about as conclusive a test as I can imagine that the problem is actually in MS 3.2.4 specifically.

I'll enjoy it while it lasts, until the App store updates to 3.2.4 again. Maybe Apple will fix the bug before that happens, though.
