why do Apple not do a 8 pin to 30 pin adapter
What are you trying to ask. There is a 30-pin to lightning adapter. How are you trying to use this that it would not work for you. The adapter has a 30-pin female port and a male lightning connector.

No i want one that does opposite, so can play my old ipod on my new dock without a wire, i guess they just want u to buy new ipod

That would not be the case. Why did you purchase a dock that has a lightning plug when you have an iPod with a 30-pin port? You should have purchased a dock that has a 30-pin plug.

Not made by Apple, but should work.
I brought it because thats the one i wanted because i have iphones in the house that do work on it and stupidly thought they had an adapter, although it does work off a wire so not a major prob, but would have liked to dock it and that is why Chris..
