iPadPro and DVDs
There are several apps in the app store for watching DVD's.
I have an apple USB superdrive, is there an adapter to connect the USB to my iPad Pro.
I would like to prop up in bed and watch DVD's on my iPad Pro
iPad pro IOS 9.2

Did you even read anything above before posting the exact same question that this whole thread is about? You can’t, it’s not possible. It’s all digital files that you need to be able to watch things on iPad or any other iOS device.
Hi. You need to "rip" the disks, which is not supported by Apple. I suggest you search elsewhere.
Discussions of copying or “ripping” commercial movies/TV shows from disc is not allowed by Apple due laws, issues, and “gray areas” of Digital Content Rights Management of commercial movie/TV show property.
Many do what you asking, but you need to do an online search to find the answers you are looking for out on the Web.
No one in here OR directly from Apple will help you with answers you seek.
That stated there is one thing for sure the Apple STILL no longer allows, but did for many years was allow external storage device streaming of purchased iTunes movie content to an iDevice
Apple no longer supports this since iOS 8 was introduced.
You have to transfer movie content stored directly on the data storage device back to the iPad to play and view from an iDevice.
Good Luck on your quest for knowledge!
I have a 2011 MacBook Air and an iPad pro. I want to watch my DVDs on the iPad pro. How do I convert the DVDs and what equipment do I need? Thank you!
Play dvd on iPad Pro. How?
Are you looking in the right app store? iOS does not support DVDs, however the Mac app store should have DVD players in there.
In Apple's work flow the way to watch dvds on your iPad is to download the iTunes digital file and watch that
Here is the reply to my question to Apple care;

Not all support staff know what they are doing...
That app is from 2012 and it requires playback from your computer.
It is NOT POSSIBLE to play any optical discs from any optical drives on any iDevice or iOS.
NOT POSSIBLE! Never was possible.
You need to either rent/purchase movie or tv show content from the iTunes Store on iOS on your iDevice and it downloads direct to the iDevice into the Videos App.
This is how you watch movies and TV shows from Apple on an iDevice.
OR, you monthly subscribe to an online media content streaming service and download from the iOS App Store Apps for Hulu, Netflix, Vudu, or Amazon Prime Video.
There are other free movie sevices you can download apps for and watch movie content like Crackle.
But watching actual physical DVDs or Blu-ray discs, NOT POSSIBLE!
What Michael said, there is ZERO support to play discs on an iPad. It's based around digital files.
