ITunes won't copy/sync all my music onto my IPhone 6

Recently I have been purchasing music and making new playlists or adding to existing playlists. When I go to copy a playlist over to my IPhone or to SYNC my music all the songs won't copy over - some are omitted. What is going on? This is very frustrating!! I have tried manually updating music but it still happens. I have also added purchased songs to my playlist on my IPhone, but when I go to sync anything off my computer (ie. I want to create some new playlists, manage music, purchase a bunch of new songs) the playlists don't sync properly again and the same songs that were missing are missing again. Hope this is making sense! Please advise.....

I have an IPhone 6 and IOS 9.3.1 all updates are current and I am using ITunes 11.4

iOS9 on a mobile device requires iTunes 12.3 or higher which in turn requires a computer running OSX 10.8.5 or higher. System Update only checks for updates for the current system version you are running but that itself may be out of date. It may or may not be possible to upgrade your computer to the required system. Find your computer model on the http://www.everymac.com web site and near the bottom of the system specification section it will say what OS versions it is capable of running. If you cannot run a newer system you will not be able to sync this phone to your present computer. If it can run 10.8.5 or higher you can either buy a download code for OSX 10.8 Mountain Lion from Apple online, or you can try installing the free El Capitan OSX 10.11. El Capitan may run slower on older machines and require additional RAM purchase. Doing a big jump in system versions is also more likely to affect old software.

Snow leopard to el capitan, will it cause my macbook to be slow? - https://discussions.apple.com/thread/7412959

If you have any PPC generation software that has been running under OSX 10.6 it will not be supported under any later system versions.

Don't know why the only response to your question gave you a rundown on "updating" software when you clearly said you had. I, too, have the same problem, still not fixed, still keeping up with iTunes and OS X and ios updates. One user tried to help (once) - by asking me if I had a column next to all the files in iTunes that had a "cloud" symbol. Took me awhile to find out this was an optional column to show - and it didn't matter for me, as every file had a cloud symbol next to it.

Even more frustrating for me is my iphone has both my incomplete playlist as well as a playlist called "purchased" which is only 1/100th of the songs actually purchased from iTunes, but apparently I can't move anything manually to it

Do you have both your playlist as well as a "purchased" playlist on your iphone?
