Can't see what I'm typing on Facebook Messenger

I recently switched from an iPhone 3 running ios 6 to an iPhone 5 using ios 9. Now when using the Facebook Messenger app, I cannot see what I am typing or the rest of the conversation. All I can see is the keyboard, with a tall while block above it. I can't see what I typed unless I exit the conversation and then go back in. But as soon as I type one letter, the white block appears. Nothing in the phone settings or app settings seems to help, and I cannot find any answers on the internet. Apparently other people are having the same issue, and can't find answers either. It is very frustrating to not be able to see what I am replying to, and even worse not to be able to see what I am typing. Please help!!!!!

Hey Denim Mcdemus,
I understand that you are having an issue with the Facebook Messenger app and not being able to see the conversation or what you are writing. Let's see what can be done about that.
Now with most apps that are downloaded from the App Store, you will have a few options as far as troubleshooting. I would start with simply closing out the app and restarting. I would also check for update for the Facebook Messenger app. You might even need to delete the app and download it again.
Take a look at the article below. I know it refers to apps not responding but the same troubleshooting applies when an app is not working as you expect it to.

Take it easy.
