Why did all my music go to trash???

I went to play some songs and my iTunes folder was empty. I found everything in my trash?? All music & files?? I can't seem to retreive to the iTunes folder?? I got it to go on my desktop, but it won't let me drag is anywhere?? I have no idea how it all ended in the trash???
