I use Pages for the majority of my work. How do I change the default wrap setting for an object to NONE instead of Automatic? I find as I add objects to a document they are constantly interfering with each other and I have to make numerous trips to the format pallet to turn off wraP.

Pages '09 recognises previous choices, making them defaults. When you copy and paste an Object's Style it copies Textwrap attributes along with all the others.
Pages 5 and 6 do not because they have been improved.

Thanks for the response. But how do I (or can I) set this as the default behaviour. I don't want to go to the inspector overtime I add an object in a complex document.
I agree. This simple ability would go a long way to helping my work in Pages.
Not that you'll see any immediate action, but a note to Apple via the Provide Pages Feedback item in the Pages menu could lead to a change in a future version.
Provide a description of the issue and how the proposed change would resolve it.

In Pages '09, the Wrap Inspector allows you to deselect Object Causes Wrap.
In Pages v5.6.1, the Arrange tab will appear in the right panel when an object is selected. Set Text Wrap to None.
There is no means to override the default Automatic text wrap setting. It will set itself to Automatic everytime that you insert an object (e.g. Text box, image, etc.). And yes, it is tedious.
