It doesn't open in Private Mode by default. If you quit Safari and reopen it, does it start in Private Mode, or with a regular window?

If it starts in Private Mode, what is Safari preferences set for under "New Windows Open With" ? This has changed in previous versions and at one time, you could set that for a private window.

Or, there was a preference saying "Safari Opens With" ***. See discussion below:

Safari private browsing mode default

I have had 10.11.x since it came out, I just went from 1.11.3. to 10.11.3 yesterday. I did find an article about the “new private window” which indicated that it might keep some sites from playing videos. So I went and created a “new window” deleted the one I was using and as if by magic, the issue went away. So I thing when I upgrade the upgrade made my safari window a “private window”

So I am hopeful that this solved my issue. Not sure why the upgrade to 10.11.4 would do that; however, who really knows.

Thanks for your help

The video's privacy settings are not allowing you to view it. It has nothing to do with Safari. "Its" refers to the video. Ask whoever uploaded it what's going on.

The odd thing is if I open a “new window” (not private window) and go to the URL

https://cc.colesclassroom.com/3-part-photoshop-mini?utm_campaign=3-interests-pho toshop&utm_medium=email&utm_source=email-automated&utm_content=photoshop-mini-co urse&utm_term=existing-list

I get to access the video. When I close the “private window” and the “new window and then close Safari and reopen, it got to a “private window where i can not see the video. Really strange. Will contact the site and see what they say...

Glenn, I don;t see a bolded “search or enter website name” it is grey. when I start a new window with my home page:

http://www.wunderground.com/us/tx/portland/zmw:78374.1.99999

I get https://www.wunderground.com/us/tx/portland/zmw:78374.1.99999

When I cut and past the website where the videos are there isn't any http(s)://. I am using the following URL

http://cc.colesclassroom.com/3-part-photoshop-mini?utm_campaign=3-interests-phot oshop&utm_medium=email&utm_source=email-automated&utm_content=photoshop-mini-cou rse&utm_term=existing-list

I will still get the “sorry ....” message when open a new tab; however, after that or one more time opening new tabs, i can access the video.

I don’t have this issue with Firefox and I did not have this issue before upgrading from 10.11.3 to 10.11.4 not change in Safari still at 9.1

That is why I am very confused what is happening..
