Photo raw conversion with Iridient Digital
Would anyone have tried Iridient Digital for raw conversion, in association with either Photos or Aperture?

Meant Iridient Developer, my apologies!
That would be done prior to importing to Photos so Photos would not know about it - Photos would see a normal JPEG import - Photos has no provision for using third party RAW conversion software

I've just recently heard of Iridident Developer and in researching it I found this comment in their release notes fro October 2015:
"This update now includes a editing extension for Apple Photos on Mac OS X 10.11 (El Capitan) that provides "external edit" like functionality for opening images from the Photos library into Iridient Developer."
which makes it sound like there is an interface to Photos. Since there's a free trial I'm going to give this a try.

Great, thank you. My interest in Iridient Developer now not as active as it was back in April - look forward to learn about your conclusions in any case
To use an external editor with Photos you must purchase the External Editors for Photos extension from the App Store - Photo Editing Extensions for Photos for Mac - and since Iridient Developer includes a Photos extension you can use it without the EEFP extension for the features supported in the extension which may or may not be the full application feature set
