I have noticed that Apple iPhone 6s can be used on Tracfone (great to know). But I want to know why the new iPhone SE is not supported? I have more interest in buying a smaller 4" iPhone SE but will not switch phone carriers to obtain one. Anyone know if it will be supported in the near future?

it will work if it is network unlocked, you just need to buy a 99 cent sim card from tracfone. provide them the info they ask for and you get fedx overnight service. just 99 cents but you need to buy direct from tracfone. i just did this and and it worked fine.
You will have to address that question to Tracfone. They are the ones that decide what phones will be supported on their network. No one here would know what their plans are.

I had called Tracfone after the announcement of the iPhone SE and I got the feeling from the person I talked with that it was Apple that gave support to the carriers that are listed for each iPhone model type on Apple's web page. So I will call Tracfone again to check on it's support. Thanks.
Tracfone is an MVNO and uses other carrier's networks. Depending on where you are using it, then it can make a difference. Many of the MVNOs do not support new devices right away, or you have to purchase directly from them. Given the popularity of the iPhone SE, it could be they are not getting devices right now.

Now I can buy that iPhone SE, though I have since been wondering if the iPhone 6S would be a better smartphone to buy, especially if it drops $100 ($650 down to $550 for the 16 GB version) when the new iPhone 7 is announced in September. But the iPhone SE for $500 gets me 64 GB of ram, so there again, that is a better deal if I don't mine not having force touch.
I just checked Apple's support page of which carriers support the iPhone SE and Tracfone is still NOT listed.
Only the iPhone 6s/6sPlus shows Tracfone suporting that iPhone.
If the iPhone SE is supported by Tracfone, I wish they would update that 'Supported LTE Networks' page to show that.
aye, I did all the research I could, and found just barely enough to convince myself to take the plunge. I've got it working via GSM, and I've seen reports of it being used via CDMA, so everything aught to work out whichever way you swing. I had it all up and running within minutes. honestly couldn't have been much easier.

Do you know if you get double the talk, data, text minutes when you buy the next round of service?

I believe all BYOP phones get triple minutes, unless the minute pack is one specifically meant for smartphones. I haven't bought any new minutes though, so I can't be entirely for sure, though that is the impression I've gotten from my research.
