ssd kingston not booting

I have a Macbook Pro (13 inch, mid-2009), and I recently replaced the hard drive on it for a Kingston SSDnow UV300.

I did a fresh install using a Lion USB disk that I had from long time ago and it went ok, but now the computar is not booting anymore

it shows the Apple logo, but it stays on the spinning wheel forever (I waited for more than 20 minutes).

It's still working perfectly with the hard drive, and the SSD is working as well (I tested it on a windows pc)

What can I do to fix it?

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.5)

Although OGELTHORPE makes a good point I doubt any Apple store will look at your 2009 MBP. From past experience Apple doesn't work with units that are over 5 years old. Your MBP is now 7 years old by model date.

I know this is getting a bit comic, but AHT is not working as well, it just boots normally as if i wasn't pressing the D key.

I already took it to a certified repair center (no Apple stores in my city) and they refused to take a look at it as it has more than 5 years.

This is getting very weird because the computer works fine when I boot it using windows, but the osx installation always fail. I'm thinking it might be a driver issue, but it might be a stupid idea as well. And I don't want to keep using windows forever, it's not going to be very useful for me...

To run the AHT on your MBP will require using the original installation disk that came with the MBP which has the AHT instructions on it.

You might be able to run the AHT if you boot the MBP with the OPTION + D keys.

The hardware test went ok

I'm calling Kingston's phone support tomorrow since their email is not helping. I don't understand why this SSD works fine with Windows and not at all with OSX...

I received and email from their support team today saying that their SSD is not compatible with Macs but they don't want to get it replaced as apparently the lack of compatibility doesn't means the device is faulty or something like that...

Yes, I can understand that logic, we have made our profit and the customer's needs are no longer our concern. I will keep that in mind when recommending SSDs, Kingston in particular. 😠

I've owned one Kingston SSD. Had to have it replaced. New one they sent me wasn't much better. I'll never buy another Kingston product. I've also owned Intel, Seagate and Samsung SSDs and none have ever failed. In fact all of them are installed in computers that get used everyday. The Intel's are the oldest, 4 years (+/-) Seagate about 2 years old and the 2 Samsung SSDs are 8 months and 1 month old. The Kingston that got replaced is in the back of a drawer, never to see the light of day.
