Deleting photos in smart albums deletes them everywhere

Hi

I have realised that when I delete a single photo in a smart album the photo is not only deleted there but everywhere within Photos. However, if I delete the whole album, the photos are still in all the other places (as they should be).

I don't understand the logic behind this at all since photos are usually only completely deleted when done in the Photos/Moments folder. Why does this happen in smart albums and is there a way around it?

Smart albums are created automatic based on the smart constraints you define for the album. So you cannot remove photos from smart albums directly, oyu have to modify the constraints. If you want to remove a photo from a smart album, ctrl-click the album and edit the constraints, so the album will no longer contain the photo. if you command-delete a photo in a smart album, it means you want the photo to be removed from the Photos Library.

Deleting the smart album will just remove the album, but leave the photos in the library. This is because smart albums will frequently be used for searching and only needed temporarily, so you need a way to remove the album, but not the photos it has found.
