I have been sent a pdf to my mail account. It wont download. When i click on it the screen turns blank?

I have been sent a pdf to my mail account. It wont download. When I click on it the screen turns blank and then it give the title when I tap the screen again. How do I get it to re download or in any format. I cannot ask the company to send the pfd again.😕 anyone able to help ?
