Is my iPod totally dead?

Ipod Touch 5th gen 32gb

First, home button doesn't work (using assistive touch). Worked this morning when I left my house. Locked it (power button once), and ten minutes later, it won't turn on. Plugged it into my computer, computer doesn't recognize a device, left it on a charger, and nothing changed after a little bit.

Any advice, or am I just boned? Thanks.
