Carplay for Kia Sportage 2017

I got a Kia Sportage 2017 which supposed to be ready for Carplay. However, the app is not installed in the media system yet. At the dealership, no one seems to know much about it. Today I called Kia consumer affairs; they told me that the app is expected to be released on May 1 and that I should download it from the app store in my iPhone to then synchronize it to the audio system...she said i do not need to take the car to the dealership to get any upgrade as the sportage 2017 are ready. Anyone knows if this is correct? I looked in the app store and there's no carplay app; at least not yet...maybe on May 1? Thank you!

I am a salesperson for my local KIA dealer. The Apple Carplay is now available. You need to log in to your myuvo.com account and click on support at the top for the instructions on how to add this feature to your vehicle. it loks as simple as downloading it to a thumb drive, inserting it in your USB port and following the instructions.

I realize that, but you need the app to register your vehicle. And there doesn't appear to be any options for Canada, only the US

Yeah, my dealer didn't know either. Have you by chance contacted Kia Canada and asked them?

I contacted Kia Canada thru facebook messenger and they said that we can PURCHASE the update on the Mapnsoft website. Now I regret buying a Kia and will never buy a kia ever again. kia canada sukkcs

Yes I have. I have an LX with no Nav, running Carplay now.

The dealers don't know much. Call Kia's customer service number, they know a little more. At least they will give you a time frame.

I just update the latest SW, and get Apple Carplay.

Just goto UVO website login and download the latest SW.

Hope you will get it.

You have to download the kia app from the app store, is "UVO eServices" and follow the instructions.

I believed KIA is *****, not only in Canada but also here in US.....This is gonna be my first and last to buy KIA cars and i wouldn't recommend this to my friends and family.
