AM I able to use an imei number to ensure me that the iPhone is original and not a replica?

Where did you purchase the iPhone? If you purchased it at an Apple store, it is definitely an original.

I Am aware of that, but if buying from a private owner/ buying it used. I have the IMEI. I would just like to have some sort of confirmation that it is original and not a fake.
