iTunes thinks my iPhone is NEW when plugged in

I have an iPhone 6 that I usually backup to the iCloud. For the first time I plugged my phone into my iTunes on my macbook to add music to my phone. iTunes thinks my phone is NEW and wants to create new phone or install from backup. Why?? I just want to add music to my phone and don't need to set it up nor install from backup. Any ideas?

No, it will look for a backup on that computer's iTunes, it won't look in the cloud - if you don't have a backup from that phone it will show you other backups that are on the computer for you to select from (other iPhones, and iPod Touches and/or iPads if they are there)
