I Have been told to take it to my nearest apple store will it still take that long
Assuming that your battery is the only issue, they should get it done within an hour. This can vary depending on how many other repairs are being done at that time and if they have enough battery kits in stock. If possible, try scheduling an appointment earlier in the day. If you have an appointment within an hour or two of closing, you might have to wait until the next day. They will give you a more accurate estimate at the store.
Thank you i had an appointment already today but they could not replace it as it was close to closing time so i have to go back tommorow they have already booked it in so hopefully it will only take about an hour.
They will test your battery first, are you certain there is something wrong with it?
