The iPhone “iPhone4S” cannot be used because it requires a newer version of iTunes error

Here is my scenario:

After breaking my iPhone glass I did a backup to the cloud and to my MBP OSX 1068, took the SIM card and send to repair.

Got it back with this error message, when trying to restore my data:
"The iPhone “iPhone4S” cannot be used because it requires a newer version of iTunes. Go to www.itunes.com to download the latest version of iTunes."

Any clue ? How to solve this ?

MacBook Pro (17-inch Early 2011), Mac OS X (10.6.8)
