iPhone 5s shows number as Unknown

This is something that I've just come across following what I thought was a phone network issue. I don't appear to have a phone signal plus the wi-fi calling isn't working.

I have tried switching iMessage and FaceTime on and off as per previous advice for similar imessage issues experienced by others. Any advice gratefully received
