parents need 12 year olds password to ipad

Is there anyway to change a password , or get into a account without wiping the info? We are having problems with my 12 year old daughter. Her daughter advised to look at her internet history. She flats refuses ( even if it means throwing the iPad away ) to give up the password which makes me very afraid. Is there anyway I can get in to see what is going on?
