I tried a in app purchase twice on battle bay for it not to work on both occasions, but the money has come out of my account and I never received a receipt

Do they show on your account's purchase history and, if they do, have you contacted the developer of the game ? If they can't/won't help try contacting iTunes Support : http://reportaproblem.apple.com or https://www.apple.com/emea/support/itunes/contact.html


If you were using a credit card and they don't show on your purchase history the 'charges' might be temporary store holding charges : About payment card authorization holds in the iTunes Store - Apple Support
