Apple logo randomly appears and locks iPad Pro while using it

I have a brand new iPad Pro. While using it, the screen will switch to a screen with the apple logo in the middle and is unresponsive. It usually comes back after a few seconds, but sometimes requires a reboot holding both buttons down. I previously had an apple air 2 and restored from it. I even reset and erased it once and restored it from iCloud a second time. It's very annoying. Is there a way to fix this?
