Is there a way to change camera ratio to 16:9 without resorting to 3rd party app. it's one of the main things the in house camera app lacks. Is there a hidden setting somewhere to use it. As in acdsee or camera+

No because iPhone 6s got a 12MP Sensor so default Ratio is 4:3
In 3rd Party Apps you can Change the Ratio but Remember you get 16:9 Ratio in 8MP so Picture Resolution also gets Low .
No. All iPhones use 4:3 or Square as their formats. You can always edit the pictures after the fact but not the same as taking 16:9 initially. I regularly edit my pictures when I am printing them or for a slideshow. The iPad screen is 4 x 3, the iPhone 4" screen is 3.5 x 2.
I understand why it's the default what I really want is to be able to choose 16:9 within the app as most other cameras and ios apps do. Thanks for your reply though guys.
I agree. As good as the iPhone camera may be, it does not compare with a dedicated camera.
Shame they put the option of panoramic square but not full 16:9 like other apps and phones. Oh well still use the pana option for wide as the other camera apps that use 16:9 still have bugs.
