is the Samsung 85

Hello,

wanting to replace the HDD on my Late2012 MacMini I would like to know if the

Samsung MZ-75E1T0B/EU EVO 850 interne SSD 1TB (6,4 cm (2,5 Zoll), SATA III) schwarz available on amazon i want install in it is a problem?

Before the drive exchange do i need to reinstall the operating system or can I simply transfer all the data from the HDD to the SSD and the slide it back in ?

Mac Mini Late 2012

2.3 GHz Intel Core i7

16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3

Yes the EVO 850 is a good SSD.

I would first install the SSD I an USB enclosure or dock and then clone the internal drive to SSD

http://www.newertech.com/tech_support/manuals/mac/clon_data.php

http://nyacomputing.com/how-to-create-a-bootable-clone-of-your-mac-hard-drive/

then test the clone by booting to the SSD when it is still in the enclosure. it will be a little slow since you are using an USB connection. If it works then exchange disks

It is not that hard. I did it on my 2102. Actually, I installed the data doubler and now have both an SSD boot drive and the original rotating drive
