I really need help! Bootcamp Partition GONE! Loner T please Help!

Hello. I Have been using Windows 7 with Bootcamp on my Macbook Pro Late 2013 15 inch Retina 16GB 2.6GHz Core i7 since I bought the computer brand new. I turned on my mac the other day and out of nowhere, the Windows Partition was gone. The only thing that I did do differently was that I turned on FileVault and encrypted my system. I am wondering if it affected my partition because of that? I am not sure. I am nervous, though because I have all of my really important work files on the partition and I haven't been able to access them at all.

Everything I tried to do so far:

I tried plugging my MBP into my iMac and booting it in target disk mode and I couldn't find any files from the Windows partition. For some odd reason the bootcamp partition is greyed out in Disk Utilities and it is now called "disk0s4."

I have a Windows 7 disk that I was able to boot from and it was about to install Windows but I was afraid that it was going to overwrite everything so I canceled it.

When I boot my MBP now and hold alt, like I used to always have to do to get into Windows, it shows 2 "Macintosh HDs" whereas it used to show one "Macintosh HD" one "Recovery Drive" and one "Windows" drive. (I am guessing that by encrypting the drive it may have messed up the naming of the voumes... Not sure)

I have turned off FileVault, unlocked, and decrypted the system to see if it would help but no luck.

I tried hitting verify disk and then repair disk and nothing worked.

I also tried to hit mount disk and that did nothing.

Is there any way I can access the files on the partition if there is no possible way to install windows 7 again without overwriting everything?

To anyone who helps answer this, thank you in advance. I am so stuck!!!

I have been reading the forums and I saw that "Loner T" asked someone to type in these commands in terminal:

diskutil list

diskutil cs list

sudo gpt -vv -r show /dev/disk0

sudo fdisk /dev/disk0

Check my terminal results below: I also attached the text file of the terminal session.

I am terrified that I am going to do something wrong and lose all of my files. I see the HPFS - NTFS line. The first number is the start? (1219276800) And the size is the 3rd set of numbers? (734932992)

If this is the case, I am trying to interpret the next forum you linked me to. Am I going to have to install and open gdisk while this terminal is open? Follow these directions and then skip to #7 and #8?

(Install GPT Fdisk (aka gdisk). Leave your Testdisk display and start a new Terminal Window. You need to use the following steps. If you see any error messages during the following steps, please stop and post back here with the error message. The following steps have values from your Testdisk output (and you can verify) in Steps 7 and 8. Please notice the'+' sign in step 8 (this is called offset notation). The text in parentheses is for informational purpose to describe the action being taken. Gdisk has one-character commands except when entering numbers.)

You cannot skip steps 7 and 8. Step 7 for your specific case is 1219276800 and step 8 is +734932992. And yes, you will need to install Gdisk.

If you are running El Capitan, you will also need to disable SIP, before the first set of Gdisk steps, which means you will lose all the information from Testdisk, and must rely on what you have posted on this thread.

To disable SIP

1. Boot into Local Recovery (Command+R).

2. Start Utilities -> Terminal.

3. Type csrutil disable in Terminal and press Enter/Return.

4. Type csrutil status.

5. Boot normally, and type csrutil status to confirm that all individual entries are still disabled.

We are not touching any data content, but only manipulating partition start/end pointers.

I am PRAYING that I did it right.... Should I restart my OSX and boot into OSX or use ALT and if the windows partition is there try that?

May 9, 2016 3:58 AM in response to Loner T

Haha, just a joke. Anyway, after following every step you have told me to do, I finally got my Bootcamp partition to show up in my FInder/Desktop!!! I copied all of my files onto a new hard drive so they are safe.

The only problem is that I cannot login to Windows. When I start the computer and hold OPTION, it does show the Windows partition, however, it doesn't boot. It just gets stuck on the black screen with the blinking _. At this point, do I have to reinstall Windows? Or can I boot from my Windows 7 disk, and try to do the Repair Windows option?

Thank you so much once again! I really appreciate your patience and all of your help thus far.

Please post the output of

sudo gpt -vv -r show /dev/disk0

sudo fdisk /dev/disk0

Let us make sure it is correct. If it is correct, you will need Startup Repair. Do not re-install Windows.
