Signature duplicates itself in replies/forwards but not new messages

My auto-signature appears twice in all replies and forwards, but it only appears once (correctly) in new email messages. I'm using iOS 9.3.1. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the signature and turned off/on the phone multiple times but it's still doing this. Help!

As I said, those steps did not work. I already saw that post and tried those steps. It's still doing it.

Have you tried to uninstall the email account itself?
If not - then that would be one option

Uninstall the email account - force restart the phone and add it back in
