I just got a DJI Phantom 3 4K and I am using an iPad Mini 2 as the video device for my controller. I would like to be able to record the screen while I fly. Can anyone tell me how to do this

To my knowledge this cannot be done directly on the iPad. You can take a still screenshot but not a video of the screen. You might be able to connect your iPad to a computer and do so from the computer itself.

I am not sure if this is what you saw before, but you can use QuickTime and a Mac to record the iPads screen. How to use QuickTime Player - Apple Support

The Apple method you posted is for screenshots only. The OP wants to take a video, not a screenshot.
That will take a screen shot they are wanting to capture the video from the drone.
To the OP: I believe there is an app in the app store that works with the phantom to record video.
Thanks, but I won't have my Mac with me and the iPad will be hooked up to the Phantom controller as its wireless network. Will what you are describing work under those conditions?

HI thanks for responding. I think Apple has pulled that app recently. I have heard, but I don't know for sure, Apple does not approve of background screen recorders.

My husband has a Phantom3. Neither of us knows how to capture what's on the screen (like the settings and controls in the App). You can only record the video to the MicroSD on the actual Phantom.
