Outlook 2016 for Mac - search not working

Just installed the new Microsoft Office 2016 for Mac. Outlook mail migrated nicely and everything seems to be there however, the search function isn't finding anything at all. Do I simply need to leave Outlook running and allow it to index? Or, do I need to do an additional step to get it to be able to search my mail?


I am running El Capitan 10.11.4


Any help is appreciated.
