Just installed the new Microsoft Office 2016 for Mac. Outlook mail migrated nicely and everything seems to be there however, the search function isn't finding anything at all. Do I simply need to leave Outlook running and allow it to index? Or, do I need to do an additional step to get it to be able to search my mail?
I am running El Capitan 10.11.4
Any help is appreciated.

Ok! Thank you! Yes, there is only one HD.
Since that sounds like it might take some time if it is the whole drive I may wait until I finish some work and then try it. Will post when successful.
I am going to assume that this might help with the filtering of "read/unread" items as well.

Hey Mark, this did the trick for me - thankfully because I'v had about 30 users effected and it was quick and simple!
To be clear, the correct command is sudo mdutil -E. In my prior post, autocorrect messed it up. Sorry for the confusion.
