HELP! "Original File Could Not Be Found" iTunes 7 UPGRADE

I have upgraded to iTunes 7 and now it is asking me to search for every single song in my library. We are talking about over 3k songs. I don't have the time, or want to think about doing this manually. Isn't there a fix to delete a file and then ask iTunes to re-search your files to import the library? None of the music files are missing. They are all still there in the music folder. Thanks for the help.

titiger,

Are you storing the songs on an external drive, or at least an alternate location to My Music\iTunes\iTunes Music?

Also, do you have the option in iTunes Advanced pref's tab checked for "Copy files to iTunes Music folder when adding to library?"

You can get the files back by using the iTunes File menu to "Add File to Library" or "Add Folder to Library".

This will give a duplicate listing, so you may want to either use Show duplicates from iTunes View menu and then sort by album name. Or delete the songs listed with exclamation icon before using the Add Folder to Library option

Try, Add Folder to Library option, browse fro the folder and click OK to see if this adds the songs back.

Hope this helps,

Generik

I get the same thing,they're in the library but they just don't play.
I get this when I attempt to play it (sorry if the pics are too big):
User uploaded file

and when I try to look for it,the folder where it used to be is gone:

User uploaded file

But I'm thinking it could be a lack of an internet connection.(My family got a new computer and now the old one,with iTunes, doesn't have a connection)

PC =( Other OS
